Student career opportunities at Daramalan
The Careers and Transition Education Course has the broad aim of empowering students by developing their career management competencies, so that they have the skills and knowledge to build and manage their careers throughout life.
The formal, timetabled Careers Education program engages students from Year 7 to Year 11 in activities such as internet searches, mock interviews, grooming and deportment classes, Blue Card training, resume and cover letter preparation and presentations from technical and further education providers.

- Information and course advice evenings for parents and students
- Excursions to the Canberra Careers Market
- Voluntary work experience either one day per week for Senior College Accredited students, or in weekly blocks during school holidays for all students

Year 10 work experience
Any Year 10 student considering an Accredited Package in 2014 is strongly encouraged to participate in the Work Experience (WEX) block scheduled Week 19 Semester 1 between 24th and 28th July 2013. You must source your own employer so start working on those family networks including working with mum or dad, or approaching potential work places by introducing yourselves with a one-page resume. Please let Ms Robinson and/or your PCA know if you are considering participating in WEX.
Seeking work experience providers
Year 10, 11 and 12 students are seeking work experience opportunities across a range of career fields. Please talk to mum and dad to see if they would be interested in offering a Dara student even one day of work experience. Particularly seeking WEX in the health area including nursing, pharmacy and radiology. The College provides full accident and public liability insurance to employers. Please ask mum or dad to contact Ms Robinson on 62456395 if they would like to know more.

Brumby's bakery in Ainslie are looking for a Shop Assistant to work after school hours from 4.00pm - 7.30pmon week days. Extra shifts may also be available. No experience is necessary but must have great customer skills. If interested please call Steve Mason on 0412 650 068.
