Rugby

Daramalan has a proud Rugby Union history with our first team running onto the field in 1962. Our teams play in the ACT Junior Rugby competition against other schools and clubs in the ACT and NSW region.

All players participate in preseason trial matches and senior players attend a preseason training camp. Senior players represent Daramalan at school boy competitions including College Rugby 7’s and the prestigious Waratah Shield. College Rugby Tours are a highlight for senior players with past tours including travel to Europe and New Zealand.

Talented Daramalan players from both high school and College have been honoured with selection in ACT Brumbies Representative Teams, ACT Brumbies Junior Gold Cup teams, ACT Schoolboy squads and National Indigenous Schoolboy teams.

Daramalan Rugby has affiliations with ACT Brumbies and Gungahlin Eagles with many players continue playing rugby with Gungahlin Eagles after graduation.

Players are encouraged to support the Club and engage in community service. Players and families volunteer and perform a variety of game day roles.

Daramalan Rugby ‘old boys’ are proud supporters of Daramalan Rugby with many contributing financially, including attending fundraising dinners and providing sponsorship to coaching and umpiring teams.
