Music is taught at Daramalan through a compulsory core unit in Year 7, followed by elective units in Years 8 to 12.

Encompassing the areas of Performance, Musicology and Composition, this subject encourages students to be aware of the many forms of music in our everyday lives, including the recording industry, films, advertising and television.

The course provides for those who have no prior experience of formal Music education while further developing the skills and knowledge of more accomplished musicians. Students are encouraged to appreciate that Music is a wonderful, dynamic means of personal expression and a vital and evolving art form.
