Community Service in action

As part of Daramalan College’s commitment to continuous improvement, the College’s Professional Learning Week for staff was held on 2-6 July. One feature of the week was the Staff Spirituality Day when all staff volunteered to undertake a community service/volunteer project for a worthy cause. This year a wide variety of tasks were undertaken from collecting rubbish on Mt Majura, to blood donations, and preparing meals for various local men’s and women’s shelters such as Companion House in Cook and Samaritan House in Hackett.

Pictured here is the OzHarvest van picking up some of the 300 frozen meals prepared by Daramalan staff in one morning, ready for distribution across Canberra.
