Canberra homeless get welcomed swags

After a cold mornings drive home from swimming training, Year 12 student Skinny Gavel reflected on how awful it would be to be sleeping rough in Canberra during winter. He then had the idea to do something about it. After some research he came across Jumbuck Street Swags that make military grade swags for homeless Australians https://www.streetswags.org/
Skinny got his friends, swim mates, rugby mates and family on board and raised enough money to buy 10 swags and 2 sleeping bags. Bryce from Night Patrol, St Vincent de Paul was delighted to receive them at the end of National Homelessness Week on his way to a special drop in service event, where he knew they would be gratefully received and needed. It is so good to see our students seeing a need and responding to the greater community.
